It's Been Awhile...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted, as many of you know, we moved offices and haven't had internet access for over a month. Thankfully we are up and running as of yesterday.

There are a couple posts (hopefully) on the way, but in the mean time... Have you read Blue Like Jazz yet? How about Velvet Elvis? I've read both (for the second time each) in the past month. They really are worth the read and may strike some intelligent discussion(s). My 2 (more) cents on these books is that if you want to just read one and don't know which- if you want to be engaged in a discussion through reading, check out Velvet Elvis. If you want to be engaged in a story, read Blue Like Jazz.

I've also read Erwin McManus' An Unstoppable Force. It was quite different from the other ones but also comes highly suggested. For any pastors who happen to be reading this, my humble opinion is that you should read it. And you will probably put in an order for the rest of your staff before your done with the book. Any artist/designer/writer/creative types out there? Read it too, but if your poor and won't buy the book, at least go to your local Barnes & Noble and read the second movement.

There are more (and more interesting) events and thoughts, but we will all have to wait a little longer for them...

3/4ths of a sheet of TP

Warning, this entry is a little graphic, and may provide more information than some readers want to know. Please consider yourself warned and read at your own risk. (And don't think less of me for it :)

Let me begin this entry by saying that one of my pet peeves is when someone leaves an empty toilet paper roll on the roller in the bathroom. My roommates think I care a little too much about it. I just think they've haven't been left high and dry, or wet as the case may be, as much as I have.

So, after being left in a lurch more than once, forced to get TP from the hall closet post... well, you get the point, I came into a room and asked that each of us be courteous and replace the roll if we finish it off. Additionally, to help keep the extra roll or two in stock in the bathroom. They thought I was a little nuts but have graciously complied. Keeping it stocked also made the weekly big cleaning day to do list. What can I say? I was thrilled.

Things have been going well for the last couple of months and tp has been kept on the roll and in stock. And then, this week, one of my companions reached an all time high, or low. I went to the bathroom and discovered there was NOT even one, BUT 3/4ths of ONE sheet of toilet paper on the roll. "How nice," I thought! Keep in mind that this, more than upsetting me made me shake my head and laugh, and thankfully one of us had reloaded the shelf with more, but really? Three-fourths of a sheeet? Don't play the I'm-an-environmentalist-and-don't-want-to-be-wasteful card with me. Just change the roll.

Thanks for listening.
